Aam Aadmi Party senior leader Amit Kapoor has said that the central government and the BJP are bent on turning the temple city of Jammu into a liquor den. Kapoor said that in the meeting of the Administrative Council held under the chairmanship of Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha last day, it is a fatal decision to approve the sale of beer in departmental stores in urban areas. This decision shows that the government is bent on making the youth of Jammu and Kashmir drug addicts to make profit from the liquor mafia.
Kapoor said that the BJP has already opened liquor shops in every street in Jammu and Kashmir to increase its revenue and now the danger has increased with the sale of beer in departmental stores. Kapoor said that the infrastructure of education, health in Jammu and Kashmir is completely crumbling.
The government is not paying attention to that. All their attention is towards making people illiterate and drug addicts. Kapoor said that even when the number of wine shops in Jammu division was increased under the new excise policy, people protested a lot but the government did not listen. This time also this decision is going to spoil the future of the children. The Aam Aadmi Party strongly opposes this decision and demands that this decision be withdrawn at the earliest.
